A Day - 15th May 2015

In 2012 I participated in a global photography project called 'A Day'. The idea was that on the 15th May 2012, people were encouraged to pick up their cameras and photograph their day. Then in the end all these photos would be collated together and we could see how different the same day is for people from all walks of life.

The website for A Day is now no longer online but I still have my photos. I uploaded them to my Flickr account. Feel free to check them out.

I decided to do it again on the 15th of May of this year, just to really see how different my life is now compared to back then. There were some obvious changes. For instance:

Then: I was working full time and running a business. I was running myself to the ground trying to juggle the both of them. But that was the only way I could survive back then.

Now: for the most part, I'm self-employed.

Then: Sydney.

Now: Wollongong.

Then: single.

Now: ... still single.

Then: 90kg

Now: 75kg

But without further ado ... I present to you my day on the 15th May 2015.

5am. Too early.
I'm normally up by 6:30am but for some reason I was startled awake at 5am.

7am. I'm up.
7am - 8am: fried eggs for breakfast.
I take FOREVER to eat breakfast.

Shower, then the getting ready process begins ...

8am

Putting on my face

I get really dry skin around my lips and it drives me insane.

8:30am. Transformation complete.

My transformation is complete. I'm now ready to take on the day.

This day was actually a really slow day for me - very rare but hey, it was a Friday. I should also note that my friend gave birth to her baby girl on this day. I didn't know about it until the weekend.

Anyway ...

10am. I hate paying for parking.
Parking. I hate paying for parking, even if it's only $2.

Grab a quick coffee and meet with the events manager.
11am: organising my life.
Meeting done and dusted. Now at my office trying to organise my life.

12pm: business seminar
12pm business seminar/luncheon about the three common mistakes people make in business. My initial thought was, "Three mistakes? Only three?"

2pm: writing myself a note
Seminar finished and I'm writing myself a note. At this stage my phone is just about to die and my girlfriends asked me if I wanted to go out for Chinese that night. Of course I said yes. I'm trying to spend as much time with my best friend as possible before she abandons me to move to London :P.

11pm
11pm, just got home from dinner and I'm pooped.
